TRUTH ABOUT THE ELDERLY AND SENIOR CITIZENS -DO WE ACT LIKE CHRISTIANS OR GOOD SPIRITUAL PEOPLE IN OUR CIVILIZATION?
If this nation calls itself christian or "civilized" but still puts a lot of elderly people in nursing homes and senior citizen "centers (usually to rot or live with other older people) but does not take the personal responsibility of loving them or caring for them like other "3rd world" cultures, then we are phonies and are corrupt!
Everybody knows there are major reasons why this happens:
1) money and capitalism and bills. Yeah, we are owned and prisoners of a marketplace driven society. Even if you did love your grandma, you probably cannot afford to take care of her. But the only reason why this is happening is because of marketplace greed. Why does it have to be expensive? Why can't you get help from others, the government or a huge money discount? Why can't your civilization create a better way? They do in other countries. Ahh, but they don't have regulations and don't have "rules" in the billions and a corporate medical and hospital and pharmaceutical powerhouse controlling society. In other countries, where there are not "home owner associations" and where people do not get always "offended" by your rights, and where there are not medical rules and taxes and cultural taboos.
It is sad to say, but back in the olden days, we had a lot more freedom to do what is right. The Native Americans respectd their elders, and had more freedom to live off the land and it did not cost them a dime to use plants, herbs, music, or loving hugs to help their older relativs. Ask yourself why in a "civilized " society it is more difficult and costly to help senior citizens. BY THE WAY, GOD IS NOT GOING TO CARE ABOUT YOUR EXCUSES OF MONEY OR GOVERNMENT RULES OR TAXES OF WHY YOU COULD NOT PROPERLY LOVE, NOURISH OR CARE FOR YOUR OLDER MOM OR GRANDMA. The bible does not teach that they should be put away from you in a corner or medical house which is miles away. They are people.
Most people could feel the way we do. But they are "trapped" or "handcuffed" by financial costs. I can tell you what I think of your neo capitalistic society! We here at Truth Society think it would be great to have a civilization crash, so that people would not have to pay bills to use the land and could use their common sense and their homes to house their seniors. Frankly, why should we pay any bills or fines for medical care at all. In the olden days, do not be fooled. It was not the government that took care of the medical needs of seniors or your elderly relatives. It was the religious and "TRIBAL" institutions. But we sacrificed all that for a money driven profit capitalistic society.
SO HOW FREE ARE OUR SENIORS OR YOU TO TAKE CARE OF OUR SENIORS IF WE HAVE TO CONSIDER EXPENSIVE COSTS? What a fantastic system? In the interior of Brazil, there are wild native tribes that have no complex government and capitalistic system. they live in the trees and are tribal. Before we say they are barbarians, let us suppose that they became christians. Now, if they still live the same way, but with bible knowledge but still use the freedom of no government, taxes, real estate laws or pay medical costs but use the land and trees to heal each other, are they still barbarians? Do we realize how much we have lost?!
2) Fear, and Inconvenience.
Of course with this reason, the implication is that we do not love our parents or grandparents. yes, the bible does say we need to cling to our wives. But still, Christian societies (and in the bible NT and Old Test), it was a sign of compassion and morality to have a room for your EXTENDED FAMILY. Other cultures even today, respect and keep their older relatives NEAR BY. And by the way, having a senior or grandparent to help out with the kids, and give advice of what they have learned is a great source of wisdom. One day you will be as old as they.
Wake up America! Wake up so called "righteous" christians? Who is going to take you seriously if you cannot even understand the moral and civilized attitude of taking care of your older family loved ones. Is America really better than other countries and cultures?
